Federal Solar Energy Tax Credits
The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is one of the most important federal policy mechanisms to support the deployment of solar energy in the United States. Consumers who install solar energy systems (including solar water heating and solar electric systems), receive a 30% tax credit for systems (Solar Installation Incentives) placed in service before December 31, 2016; the previous tax credit cap no longer applies.
