customer's goals

REV Energy Ventures set out to green the energy portfolio for their international hospitality client that would better reflect the brand’s commitment to sustainability and stewardship. Rooftop solar was a useful tool for several of the brand’s hotel assets, including this one located in D.C.’s trendy Georgetown neighborhood.

aurora's solution

Aurora designed a system utilizing all the hotel’s available roof space using Rec Alpha Black series 375W modules along with SolarEdge inverters and power optimizers. The system was installed over the hotel’s existing ballasted roof.

project results

Able to take advantage of the solar federal tax credit (ITC), D.C. SRECs bonus depreciation, and utility savings the property will realize considerable financial benefits starting from the first year in service, with a pay-back period just under 4 years. Doing their part to reduce emissions by more than 1,700 metric tons over the life of the system, REV and their client have contributed to making sleek Georgetown a little cooler.
