Four Warehouses with One Common Solar Goal

Through creative innovation, Aurora Energy was able to customize each tailored design according to roof space and offset needs resulting in a 96.6 kW system at the CPAD warehouse; 277.2 kW system at Port Services; 529.2 kW at Black Ice warehouse and 724.5 kW at Blue Stripe warehouse.  The system installed at the Blue Stripe warehouse is the largest roof mounted solar array in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.

customer's goals

In order to reduce costs for four of their cold storage & shipping warehouses in Virginia, InterChange Group was looking for a solar solution as a way to maximize their rooftop space. InterChange tasked Aurora with desiging and installing rooftop solar arrays at all four warehouses that fit the needs of each particular site.

aurora's solution

Through creative innovation, Aurora Energy was able to customize each tailored design according to roof space and offset needs resulting in a 96.6 kW system at the CPAD warehouse; 277.2 kW system at Port Services; 529.2 kW at Black Ice warehouse and 724.5 kW at Blue Stripe warehouse.

project results

The total aggregate generation for the four sites is 2,178.4 MWh of electricity annually, feeding any excess back into the grid. Over the lifetime of the systems, over 38,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide will be off-set. In addition, the system installed at the Blue Stripe warehouse is the largest roof mounted solar array in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
